For the second consecutive year, Philippine Art Events Inc.
brings a showcase of both modern and contemporary Philippine art to the Makati Central Business District and Ayala Center. The Art Fair Philippines 2014 event will be held once again at The Link Carpark, located near the Landmark Department Store in Ayala Center, and will take place February 20-23, 2014.The event was so successful last year that this year's program will extend to both the 6th and 7th floors of the carpark. This mean more exhibits can be shown. Although most of the displays will feature local artists, there will also be several international galleries featured as well. Exhibits will include artists like Rodel Tapaya, Jose John Santos III, Louie Cordero, and Pio Abad.
In addition to art displays, visitors can enjoy good food at Kai Restaurant or enjoy cocktails or a glass of wine at The Straits Wine Company. There will also be lectures on Southeast Asian contemporary art presented by the famous auction house, Christies.
The art event is being held in celebration of Art Month in the Philippines. Art Fair Philippines is also part of the Make it Happen, Make it Makati project by Ayala Land. The company wants to let both residents and visitors know about the rich culture that is an important part of Makati and remind them of what a vibrant community it is. The fair is open daily from 10am to 10pm. The entrance fee is P150 with a 50 percent discount for students.
